Hi, we do a lot of wild camping in Scotland as there are few restrictions unless its a by-law you can usually camp/park in lay-bys , carparks etc, there are also a few schemes now to aid motorhomers have overnight stops free and these can be great for holidays to break journeys etc. Its good to know we are catching up with our european neighbours and having more of the Aire type facilities in Britain as a whole. Happy motorhoming all. Maureen

Wales doesn't seem to be catching on unfortunately with more and more no overnight stopping or camping signs apearing in places where previously there were none. I dont want to be on campsites with lot's of other people and the prices are riduculas for an overnight stop. Very good news Scotland are a lot more tolerant. What harm is it to allow people to wild camp most of us tidy up not only after our selves but others to. Councils in devon are realising it's there loss and now are introducing car parks you can pay to stay overnight after all it's in thier intrest to keep us there spending money. UK needs to be more camper friendly and welcome people to visit thier towns and beaches. The other problem is there are so few good overnight stops you tend to keep them to yourself as your worried they will get spoilt by others who may not respect the area's

Powys has many car parks that allow wildcamping with the restrictions being 1 night in 7 , Brecon and the Brecon Beacons are a great place to go for a free night!
