We are off to France in the next few weeks but I've heard that on the continent they don't use the 'orange' gas bottles ie Calor gas as we do. Will I have problems getting mine refilled or exchanged ?

Yes as a short answer, the weather here is about 5°C hotter than in the U.K so for three weeks or so a couple of 13Kg Calor cylinders should be OK but if you are heading off into colder climes ie the Ski areas I would suggest swapping to Propane, the only gas available on both sides is CampingGaz and a 907 is expensive to exchange wherever you are. You cannot swop a Calor cylinder or have it refilled in France.

Hi your right you can't exchange your calor gas bottle in France But buying gas is No problem you just need a adapter to screw on your French bottle it's available here www.bullfinch-gas.co.uk/index.php?page=shop.browse&category_id=57&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1 the item # is 1301 This once screwed onto your French bottle accepts your propane regulator or hose connection. Bottle Gas is available at many locations in France where I get mine is Intermarche super market filling stations who do their own brand bottles the deposit on a bottle is one euro (yes one Euro)they sell other brands but ask for their own brand bottle The 11kg bottle last Oct was 18 euro just one thing French propane and butane bottles both have the same thread on and are the same colour so ask for what you want the label says whats inside. You'll have no problem with this I didn't and can't speak a word of French Should have looked at the date how did you get on hope post helps someone
