We have just had a weekend away and as there were no winds forecast for the weekend we wound out the Fiama to keep the foot cleaning carpet dry. On the Saturday night it was very cold, there was a heavy frost on the ground in the morning and the water taps on site had frozen up. When we came to leave I wound in the Fiamma but the far end (the end away from the winder) did not retract fully. I gave it a push and it seemed to go in fully, I checked there was tension on the winch and decided it would be OK. When I got out of the Motorhome at home to my horror the awning was sticking out about 6 inches. Has anyone else had this problem, is it a matter of not using the Fiamma if cold weather is predicted ? Trooper

Makes me wonder if you had a thin layer of frost on the awning material, this would cause the awning roll to wind up to a bigger diameter explaining why it did not close correctly and when it melted the water could drain off, the material would roll out because it was now loosely furled giving you the six inch shock when you got home.

That was my thoughts as well Roger. The day after we got home I unrolled it as far as I could and a lot more water came out, it then rolled back in as it should. Moral of the story seems to be, don't use your Fiamma if a frost is forecast. Trooper

Any severe weather do not use awning. Its not worth the hassle.
